First day of school...

The kids have started school - very bittersweet. They were nervous and reacted in their usual manners. Gehrig had an upset stomach for about a week. He told the secretary in the office on Monday that, things were awkward because he was starting first grade tomorrow and he was only six! (Awkward was the kids word for the summer.) Natalee was a ball of boundless energy. However, that has passed and all is well. Gehrig tells me on the second day of first grade, during breakfast, "Mom, you don't have to walk me to class anymore. You can just wait with me in line until my teacher comes." Sniff! The vice principal today told me that he is just all smiles every time she checks in on him. Although she didn't want her picture taken, (what's new?) Natalee is really liking her teacher and some new friends in her class. Me? - I'm working on a bulletin board for Nat's teacher and am glad to have my support group of moms to see every morning and afternoon! Plus, I've even subbed for two afternoons this week for my favorite special ed. class. Just enough to keep me busy and not be too sad!

You have got to keep that pisture of Nanny, and save it forever. I love her wrinkley little nose. What a cute picture.

We should write a book about first day of school experiences. Briggs punched Ashlynn in the face on the first day of school. BRIGGS! Not Ty!
