Life is pluggin' away here in the Silicon Valley. We just keep trying to keep things simple, make ends meet, love each other and grow a little in the process. Though our duplex is small (2 bed. 2 bath) we are blessed to live in a great neighborhood, close to fabulous doctors, our schools, church and friends. Kurt has a job and I can supplement our income as I have energy by substitute teaching at our local elementary school. Though we battle traffic daily, we have fabulous weather here and can reach the beach in 40 minutes -we have to remind ourselves of that fact everytime we see how high rents are raising.
One of the things we've realized is so important in our lives, besides working hard and going to church, is having something we enjoy just for ourselves. Something that makes us feel successful and takes our mind off the daily grind. Here is just a snippet of the things that bring a smile to our faces and keep us looking forward to the next day:

Kurt and I like to "do" art too sometimes. Here is a cow we painted on Mormon Helping Hands day last year. I drew the sharks symbol on the bum freehand and Kurt cleaned it up when he added the paint. It now stands at the entrance to Emma Prusch Farms where it greets visitors.
