Eventually, even summer has to come to an end. To celebrate (yes, for me it's a celebration) we went to Sky High, a place full of trampolines. It was awesome! It was so good for the kids and so fun to watch them bounce until their cheeks turn red. Gehrig loved the foam pit, where he could bounce off the trampoline wall into the pit. Natalee even joined a dodge ball game. Sometimes she had a little side-kick to protect (Kate).
Please excuse the poor photos - these were taken with my phone. The camera went a.w.o.l . for the first day of school; we still don't know if that was intentional or not. Either way, I made the kids pose for the quintessential first day of school picture. The sun was very bright, our home faces east, so they were squinting. But, I got 'em!
Gehrig was not too thrilled to start school. He was just sure 4th grade was going to kick his pants. But, he's got a fabulous teacher and she started him out on the right foot. He gets stars for being on task and gets to pick a prize from the treasure chest for every 5 stars he earns. He's earned two full sheets so far! His attitude towards school has improved greatly.
And here's our little miss - not so little anymore. She is only 3/4 of an inch shorter than me, now. Natalee was so excited to start 7th grade at her new middle school that she was up at 6:20! Her school doesn't even start until 9:15. She also has a fabulous team of teachers and facilitators helping her navigate 6 different classes now.
Both kids are working hard, but have great attitudes. Here's to the Alligators and Cobras!
